Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover silver from a substrate coated with silver or a silver alloy at low costs while reducing the load on the environment.SOLUTION: A silver recovery method includes a dissolving removal step of adding a solution containing iron (III) nitrate to a substrate coated with silver or a silver-based alloy to dissolve silver or the silver-based alloy, a silver chloride formation step of adding hydrochloric acid to the solution dissolved with silver or the silver alloy to form precipitation of silver chloride and an iron nitrate regeneration step of oxidizing divalent iron ion contained in the solution after the dissolution removal step to trivalent iron ion. In the dissolution removal step, the concentrations of iron ions are kept so that the concentration of Fein the solution containing iron (III) nitrate after the addition of the substrate 1.5 times the concentration of Fe, and the solution containing iron (III) nitrate produced in the iron nitrate regeneration step is used in the dissolution removal step.
