Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface defect judgment method and apparatus for a continuous casting piece that judge whether or not surface detects are generated in the continuous casting piece, and to provide a billet manufacturing method using the surface defect judgment method.SOLUTION: A surface defect judgment method for a continuous casting piece related to this invention includes a temperature measurement data acquisition step S1 of acquiring temperature measurement data of a thermocouple 5, embedded in a long-side face copper plate 3a of a casting mold 3, by arranging the thermocouple 5 to satisfy a predetermined range and interval in a casting direction and a mold width direction, a temperature measurement data standardization step S3 of standardizing the temperature measurement data every long-side face copper plate 3a, a main component analysis step S5 of performing the main component analysis of the standardized temperature measurement data, a frequency distribution preparation step S7 of preparing a frequency distribution of main component scores calculated by the main component analysis step S5 to obtain the main peak and a standard deviation of the frequency distribution, and a surface defect judgment step S9 of judging whether or not surface defects are generated in the casting piece on the basis of the main peak and the standard deviation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
