PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber board having excellent dimensional stability and excellent planar tensile strength, prepared with a binder which has high adhesion and can be cured in a short time, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A fiber board is obtained by heating and pressurizing, and then molding a mixture of a binder comprising powdery saccharides and powdery divalent or more acids and a plant fiber, where the binder has powdery inorganic substance added thereto.SELECTED DRAWING: None
