Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink capable of high-speed recording of an image in which bleeding is suppressed without using a reaction liquid, while maintaining excellent discharge properties even if the liquid component has evaporated after a long-term storage.SOLUTION: An aqueous ink includes a coloring material and a polyvalent metal ion. The coloring material is a self-dispersion pigment having an anionic group bonded via another atom group on a particle surface of the pigment. In the self-dispersion pigment, a surface charge amount is 0.22 mmol/g or more. A value (mmol/L) of a mol number of the polyvalent metal ion×a valence of polyvalent metal ion is 0.23 time or more with regard to a ratio to a mol number (mmol) of the anionic group of the self-dispersion pigment. A volume average particle diameter dis 160 nm or more with regard to the self-dispersion pigment measured by a dynamic light scattering method.SELECTED DRAWING: None
