Abstract:
A 2-propanol compound represented by general formula (I), which is used as a preservative for colored images in heat-sensitive recording material and particularly improved in plasticizer resistance, wherein Y represents a group of general formula (II) or (III); R?1¿ represents hydrogen or alkyl; R?2¿ represents alkyl or alkoxy; R?3¿, R?4¿, R?5¿ and R?6¿ represent each alkyl or alkenyl; R?7¿ and R?8¿ represent each hydrogen, lower alkenyl or aralkyl; Z represents -SO¿2?- or -CO-; ring A represents benzene or naphthalene; and n, m, p, q and r represent each an integer of 0 or above.
