Abstract:
This abnormality detection device is for detecting a rolling abnormality in the surface of a material 1 to be rolled that is rolled by a rolling mill, and comprises: cameras 81 and 82 for photographing the material 1 to be rolled, for which an abnormality is to be detected; and an image processing device 92 for dividing luminance data of pixels that are from an image captured by the cameras 81 and 82 and are within the range of the material 1 to be rolled, into three components, that is, an R value, a G value, and a B value, and for detecting a rolling abnormality in the surface on the basis of the relationship between the luminance data of two components among the luminance data of the components. Thus, the present invention provides an abnormality detection device and an abnormality detection method with which the detection accuracy with regard to a rolling abnormality in a sheet can be improved in comparison to the prior art.
