Abstract:
An absorbent article (1) comprises a substantially vertically long absorbent body (10) provided with an absorber (4) capable of retaining a liquid and a surface sheet (2) disposed on the side of the surface contacting the skin, and a pair of leakage barriers (5A) disposed on both side sections of the absorbent body (10) along the longitudinal direction. The leakage barriers (5A) include a sheet (50) and a plurality of elastic members (15) disposed in a stretched state on the sheet (50). The sheet (50) comprising a part (53) on which the elastic members (15) are disposed in the leakage barriers (5A) is stretch-processed in the direction of stretch (X) of the elastic members (15), and thereby extensibility is imparted to the sheet (50) itself.
