Abstract:
A middle part in the width direction of a gather-forming nonwoven fabric (7) for forming a standing gather arising on a skin side is joined to an edge part of a liquid-permeable surface sheet (7), a folded part (7c) folded on a lateral side is formed inside the joined part (C), and the folded part (7c) is divided into an end region (Z1), a urinary-opening facing region (Z2), and a middle region (Z3). In the end region (Z1) and the middle region (Z3), the portion of the folded part (7c) positioned on the inside in the width direction thereof is joined to a liquid-permeable surface sheet (3) side, and a projecting portion (17) is formed having as a free end part the distal end of a portion thereof positioned further outside in the width direction than the joined part (D). In the urinary-opening facing region (Z2) and the middle region (Z3), an elastic expanding/contracting member (15) is provided along the longitudinal direction of a pad and continuous with at least an area corresponding to the projecting portion (17).
