Provided is an absorbent article that easily absorbs a twisting force continuously. An absorbent article (1) has: a pair of cutout sections (35) that extend inwardly in the width direction from the outer perimeter of an absorbent core; and a core main body (36) that has a higher basis weight of absorbent material than the cutout sections. The center (35CL) of the cutout sections in a front-back direction (L) is displaced in the front-back direction (L) relative to the center of an inseam region in the front-back direction. The length of the cutout sections in the front-back direction is shorter than the length of the inseam region in the front-back direction. A join section has a join extension section (65) provided in a region overlapping the cutout sections. The distance (G1) in the width direction between the outer perimeter of the join extension section and the core main body is greater than or equal to the thickness of the core main body.
