Provided by the present disclosure are an acceleration measuring apparatus and an acceleration measuring method therefor, the acceleration measuring apparatus comprising a housing, a standard object, a light source, a lens, an image sensor, and a processor. The housing has an internal cavity. The standard object is arranged in the internal cavity by means of elastic support members, the elastic support members being connected between the bottom of the internal cavity and the standard object. The light source is fixed to a side of the standard object which is away from the bottom of the internal cavity. The lens is fixed to the standard object and is located on a side of the light source which is away from the standard object. The image sensor is provided at the top of the internal cavity, is located on a side of the lens which is away from the standard object, and is used for receiving light emitted by the light source and scattered by the lens. The processor is configured to calculate displacement information of the standard object in the vertical direction according to the light received by the image sensor and to calculate the acceleration of the standard object according to the displacement information.
