Abstract:
[Problem] To prevent the same identification data from being assigned to a plurality of active pens when pairing an active pen and a sensor controller. [Solution] An active pen that is used in conjunction with a sensor controller, and that includes an electrode and a processor connected to a memory. In response to a command signal C transmitted from the sensor controller the processor transmits a reply signal that includes identification data held in the memory (steps S18, S23), and on the basis of whether correspondence data corresponding to the identification data is included in a multi-uplink signal M/U received after transmission of the reply signal, the processor determines whether the sensor controller has not yet detected or has already detected the relevant active pen.
