Abstract:
Disclosed is an AI up-scaling apparatus for up-scaling a low-resolution image into a high-resolution image, comprising a memory for storing one or more instructions, and a processor for executing the one or more instructions stored in the memory, wherein the processor uses a first deep neural network (DNN) so as to acquire a second image corresponding to a first image into which an AI down-scaling apparatus has down-scaled from an original image, and uses a second DNN corresponding to the first DNN so as to up-scale the second image, thereby acquiring a third image, and the second DNN is trained to minimize differences between a first reconstructed image of an original training image, having been acquired by down-scaling and up-scaling an image obtained by not applying a pixel shift to the original training image, and second reconstructed images of one or more translation images, having been acquired by down-scaling, up-scaling, and then re-translating the one or more translation images obtained by applying a pixel shift to the original training image.
