Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] With respect to an air cleaner equipped with a discharge part capable of electric discharge in air, to realize thinning of the air cleaner while maintaining the discharge performance of the discharge part. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] In ionization part (30) for charging dust in air, insulating material (60) is disposed between earth electrode (33) and ionization wire (31) as a base end of discharge. Consequently, while any discharge from the ionization wire (31) to the earth electrode (33) is blocked by the insulating material (60), corona discharge from the ionization wire (31) to first electrode plate (32) is maintained. Thus, the distance between the ionization wire (31) and the earth electrode (33) can be reduced.
