Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an air conditioner and a control method which can prevent defrosting operation from applying an excessive load on a compressor. This air conditioner has multiple outdoor units, one or more indoor units, and a control unit. The outdoor units are provided with a compressor, a four-way valve, an outdoor heat exchanger, an outdoor expansion valve and an outdoor blower, and said outdoor units exchange heat between the outside air and a refrigerant. The indoor units are connected to the multiple indoor units by refrigerant piping, are provided with an indoor heat exchanger, an indoor expansion valve and an indoor blower, and exchange heat between the indoor air and the refrigerant. The control unit controls the multiple outdoor units and the one or more indoor units. If any of the outdoor units are currently performing defrosting operation, the control unit controls the condensation pressure of the outdoor units currently performing defrosting operation, or the suction pressure of the outdoor units currently performing defrosting operation, to less than or equal to an upper limit pressure, which is 1/1.5 times the rated maximum pressure during heating operation.
