Abstract:
Provided is an air conditioner provided with a heat exchanger, a compressor, a pipe connecting the heat exchanger and the compressor, and a control unit which controls the compressor and which has a compressor failure prognosis/detection means, in order to perform failure prognosis/detection for the compressor provided to the air conditioner, wherein the compressor failure prognosis/detection means of the control unit is provided with a current detection unit for detecting a drive current for driving the compressor, a pulse detection unit for detecting pulsing of the drive current detected by the current detection unit, and an abnormality determination unit for predicting or detecting failure of the compressor on the basis of the size and continuation time of the pulsing of the drive current as detected by the pulsing detection unit.
