Abstract:
There is provided an air conditioner capable of suppressing a coolant noise accompanying volume control. The air conditioner (100) includes a coolant circuit having a compressor (10), outdoor heat exchanger (14), a first indoor expansion valve (5a), and a first indoor heat exchanger (3a). The air conditioner further includes a receiver (16), a gas discharge circuit (20), a gas discharge circuit open/close unit (30), and a control unit (60). The receiver (16) is arranged in the coolant circuit between the first indoor expansion valve (5a) and the outdoor heat exchanger (14) and can contain coolant in a liquid state. The gas discharge circuit (20) is connected to the intake side of the compressor (10) from the receiver (16) and sends the coolant in a gas state from the receiver (16) to the intake side of the compressor (10). The gas discharge circuit open/close unit (30) is arranged on the gas discharge circuit (20) so as to open/close the gas discharge circuit (20). The control unit (60) can execute volume control by frequency control of the compressor (10) and open/close control of the gas discharge circuit open/close unit (30).
