Provided is an air flow meter capable of quickly following variation in the pulsation state of an input signal. This air flow meter 1 is provided with an air flow detection element 3 for generating an input signal Qsen relating to an air flow rate to be measured and a calculation unit 2 for carrying out calculation for generating an output signal Qout corresponding to the air flow rate on the basis of the input signal Qsen. The calculation unit 2 has an output signal calculation unit 7 for carrying out calculation including exponentiation of the output signal Qout by a value greater than 1, an input signal calculation unit 4 for carrying out calculation on the input signal Qsen, a subtraction unit 5 for determining the differences between the calculation results from the output signal calculation unit 7 and the calculation results from the input signal calculation unit 4, and an integrator 6 for integrating the differences determined by the subtraction unit 5. The output signal Qout is generated on the basis of the output from the integrator 6.
