Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an airbag device for protecting pedestrians capable of protecting pedestrians efficiently with a simple configuration. [Solution] The typical configuration of an airbag device 100 for protecting pedestrians according to the present invention comprises airbag cushions 112a, 112b which are respectively housed in the end portions, in the vehicle width direction, of a front hood 104 of a vehicle, which are respectively housed in left and right A-pillars 110a, 110b, or which are housed from the respective end portions, in the vehicle width direction, of the front hood to the A-pillars 110a, 110b, and which are inflated and deployed in an elongated shape in the vehicle length direction at least along the A-pillars 110a, 110b, wherein the airbag cushions 112a, 112b are rolled or folded from both ends in the vehicle width direction toward the center in the short direction of the airbag cushions 112a, 112b, and furthermore are housed in the vehicle in a housed state such that a valley fold 122 in a V shape is formed so as to sink at the center toward the vehicle interior.
