Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a means for improving the oxidation performance of CO and HC in a low temperature range even after high-temperature endurance test with respect to an exhaust gas purifying catalyst. [Solution] An Al-P composite oxide which contains aluminum oxide and phosphorus oxide, wherein, relative to the total mass of the Al-P composite oxide, the content of the aluminum oxide is from 79% by mass to 97% by mass in terms of Al2O3, the content of zirconium oxide is 0% by mass, or more than 0% by mass but not more than 7% by mass in terms of ZrO2, and the content of the phosphorus oxide is from 3% by mass to 14%by mass in terms of PO4.
