Abstract:
Provided are a high-purity aldehyde-modified silicone and a method for producing the aldehyde-modified silicone in which a competitive reaction of hydrosilyl group addition to the carbonyl group of the aldehyde does not advance. An aldehyde-modified silicone having one or two aldehyde groups per molecule, wherein the aldehyde-modified silicone is represented by formula (1) (AR1 2SiO1/2)1(R1 3SiO1/2)a(R1 2SiO2/2)b(R1SiO3/2)c(SiO4/2)d (in the formula, A is a linear or branched C2-20 alkylene group (-R-), or an alkylene oxyalkylene group (-R-O-R-) that is an organic group having one or two aldehyde groups at the ends; R1 each independently are groups selected from C1-10 alkyl groups, C6-10 aryl groups, and C7-10 aralkyl groups, a is 0
