Abstract:
An aluminum nitride powder according to the present invention has an average particle diameter of 5 µm to 50 µm and an oxygen content of 0.5% by mass or less; this aluminum nitride powder comprises polyhedral particles each having at least two smooth surfaces a as determined by the observation with a scanning electronic microscope at a magnification of 500 times; and the average of the ratios (L/D) of the length (L) to the breadth (D) of the polyhedral particles that have a length (L) of 5 µm or more is within the range of 1 to 1.4. The present invention is able to provide an aluminum nitride powder that enables a resin composition, which is obtained by filling a resin with this aluminum nitride powder, to have high thermal conductivity, while exhibiting good fluidity.
