Abstract:
A supported catalyst which is composed of a support body wherein: a catalyst composition is supported by a carrier; the catalyst composition contains silver and an oxide of copper; and the carrier contains Al2O3. A hydrogen production method for producing hydrogen from ammonia, which comprises: an ammonia combustion step wherein ammonia and oxygen are reacted with each other in the presence of the above-described supported catalyst; and an ammonia decomposition step wherein ammonia is decomposed into hydrogen and nitrogen by utilizing heat generated by the reaction between ammonia and oxygen.
