Title:
ANALYTICAL METHOD AND ANALYTICAL SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/018738
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A method and a system for plasma spectrometry of fine particles formed by laser ablation, whereby the optimization of analysis conditions is inhibited from being hindered either because of the characteristics of a carrier gas conveying the fine particles or by a gas component generated by laser ablation.  The method and the system make it possible to determine multiple kinds of elements stably with high sensitivity and high precision without impairing the operatability, speediness and easiness. A sample (α) is converted into fine particles in a laser ablation unit (3) in an atmosphere of a first gas.  The fine particles are conveyed from the laser ablation unit (3) to a gas replacement unit (5) by using the first gas as the carrier gas.  In the gas replacement unit (5), at least part of the carrier gas (the first gas) conveying the fine particles is replaced by a second gas.  The fine particles are conveyed from the gas replacement unit (5) to a plasma spectrometer (6) by the resulting carrier gas.  The fine particles are analyzed for constituent elements by the plasma spectrometer (6).
