Abstract:
An angular velocity sensor capable of abnormality diagnosing without providing, on a tuning fork vibrator, an abnormality diagnosing signal input electrode or a reference potential grounding electrode for reducing an error in angular velocity detection. Both arms (2), (3) are deflected in the Z-axis direction of the tuning fork vibrator (1) by using a switch to produce an in-phase drive signal at an output terminal. Charges obtained from a 10-th electrode (22) and a 12-th electrode (25) respectively provided on the arms (2), (3) are individually amplified by a first amplifier and a second amplifier respectively. These outputs are input to a differential amplifier, and the output is compared with a specified value output from a reference value generating means by a comparator to determine an abnormality if it exceeds the specified value.
