Abstract:

An anti-fogging article with both excellent anti-fogging properties and wear resistance, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. This anti-fogging article comprises a base body, a water absorbent resin layer which is arranged on the base body, and an overcoat layer which is arranged on the water absorbent resin layer and which includes silica particles and the hydrolysis condensate of an alkoxysilane compound. The overcoat layer has a film thickness of 20-350nm, and is formed from an overcoat composition which, for a total of 100 parts by mass of the silica particles and the alkoxysilane compound, contains 90-45 parts by mass of the alkoxysilane compound and 10-55 parts by mass of the silica particles.
