ANTISTATIC COMPOSITION AND THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME

An antistatic composition (I) comprising a mixture of two specified sulfonic acid salts, another antistatic composition (II) comprising a mixture of a specified sulfonic acid salt, a specified glycol and at least one member selected from the group consisting of a fatty acid glyceride containing a given proportion of a monoglyceride, a fatty acid diethanolamide and an N-(alkyl or alkenyl)diethanolamine, and still another antistatic composition (III) comprising the mixture mentioned above in the composition (II) and a metal salt of a sulfonic acid. These compositions, when added to a thermoplastic resin, can impart thereto a stable and excellent antistatic performance and improve the moldability of the resin. Furthermore, the two compositions (II) and (III) enable the resin to exhibit a stable antistatic performance immediately after the injection molding even in a small amount of addition and can suppress smoking in the molding step. Especially, even when a transparent resin such as an acrylic resin is used as the thermoplastic resin, the transparency is not impaired. The invention also provides a thermoplastic resin composition containing the antistatic composition.
