Abstract:
The apparatus for collecting shielding balls for a heavy-water reactor according to one embodiment comprises: a head unit which separates, to the outside, shielding balls located inside an end shield of a calandria in a heavy-water reactor; and a moving unit which moves the head unit to the end shield of the calandria. The head unit comprises: a head body; an opening forming unit which is installed on the head body and forms an opening in the end shield; and a gate unit which is installed on the head body and controls the flow of the shielding balls being discharged to the outside via the opening.
