Abstract:
An apparatus for estimating a battery state-of-charge, according to the present invention, comprises: a sensing unit configured to respectively measure the voltage, current and temperature of a battery; and a processor operably coupled to the sensing unit, wherein the processor can be configured so as to: set a first reference voltage on the basis of a first state of charge according to the battery voltage, which is calculated in advance through the battery current measured at every charging/discharging cycle of the battery; calculate a second state of charge according to the battery voltage by using an equivalent circuit model corresponding to the battery; set a voltage area of the battery as a first voltage area and a second voltage area on the basis of the first reference voltage; and estimate a state of charge of the battery in each of the first voltage area and the second voltage area as either the first state of charge or the second state of charge.
