Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for inspecting a section of a magnetic conduit pipe using magnetostrictive effect, the appartus comprising: a pipe (300) formed from a magnetic substance; an exciter coil (200) for inducing the magnetostrictive effect, which consequently causes longitudinal vibrations in the pipe, the exciter coil (200) being set by unit which enables replacement of the pipe when an abnormality is discovered in the pipe, the affected section of the pipe can be replaced; a sine wave generator (100) for providing the electric current for creating a magnetic field in the exciter coil (200); a switch (710) for selectively connecting or disconnecting the sine wave generator (100) to and from the exciter coil (200); a microprocessor (700) for obtaining absolute values for signal data by controlling the switch (710), and for integrating the waveform data input over a set section and for calculating an average value; a reception converter (400), which is on one end of the pipe separated by a predetermined distance from the other end of the pipe (300) on which the exciter coil (200) is positioned, for picking up the vibration propagated from the pipe (300) and converting the vibration into an electronic signal; a reception amplifier (500) for amplifying the electronic signal from the reception converter (400); an A/D converter (600) for converting an analog signal from the reception amplifier into digital data; and a test output (800) terminal for outputting whether abnormalities exist in the pipe (300) after receiving data from the A/D converter (600), and analyzing the data values calculated by the microprocessor (700), wherein as the microprocessor (700) transmits the received waveform data over time to a visualization module (900), the visualization module (900), after acquiring the received waveform data by time, cuts same into a set unit size, corrects distortions in the cut and received waveform data, maps the corrected and received waveform data onto a plan, displays the mapped and received waveform data, which has been planned, onto a pre-stored plan of a pipe images by means of overlapping thereof, marks the status or the extent of damage indicating a pipe crack (310) or a pipe erosion (320), and magnifies and marks the location of damage.
