Abstract:
An apparatus for purifying crystals wherein an opening (3) for charging crystals of a raw material and an opening (4) for withdrawing out purified crystals as a product are disposed at a lower portion and an upper portion, respectively, of a cylindrical purification column extending vertically, an agitating device (2) for agitating crystals of the raw material is provided in the purification column, and the purification of crystals of the raw material is effected through a counter current contact of crystals of the raw material rising in the column with a melt of purified crystal component falling in the column, characterized in that a melt feeding means (5) for feeding a melt of the purified crystal component from outside is provided in an upper portion of the purification column; and a method for purifying crystals using the apparatus. The apparatus can be used for greatly reducing the possibility of damaging an apparatus and for producing a product of high quality with stability and a high production rate.
