Title:
APPARATUS FOR STABILIZATION OF MARINE VESSELS BY MEANS OF INFLATABLE BUOYANT BODIES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/028133
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
In an apparatus for production of gas for filling buoyant bodies for bodies which are located in the water with gases stored in a compressed form, a compressed-gas reservoir (11) is combined with a hot-gas generator (12), which is known per se. The hot-gas generator can be arranged both inside and outside the compressed-gas reservoir and, furthermore, the hot-gas generator can be integrated in a mixing chamber (14). The hot-gas generator is based on the catalytic decomposition of a liquid energy carrier, preferably hydrazine, or generates the buoyancy gas by combustion or by the chemical reaction of a solid energy carrier, preferably lithium hydride, with the surrounding seawater. The compressed-gas reservoir (11) is filled with a gas. The hot-gas generator (12) is preferably designed such that, when the apparatus is activated, the cooling down of the compressed gas is compensated for by the heat generated by the hot-gas generator, or pressure is built up or decreased in a controlled manner within the compressed-gas reservoir.
