Abstract:
Provided is an aqueous printing ink composition, in which an ethylene-(acrylic acid) copolymer is used as a binder and a pigment can be dispersed satisfactorily without requiring the use of a dispersant such as a highly hydrophilic surfactant, and which does not undergo incompatibilization between raw materials, e.g., gelatinization of the raw materials.
An aqueous printing ink composition characterized by comprising: a pigment; and a copolymer which is produced by copolymerizing an α-methylstyrene monomer with monomer components including, as an essential component, an ester compound formed from an alcohol having 14 to 18 carbon atoms and an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid.
