Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a photoalignment film that can suppress AC burn-in and is provided with an absorption anisotropy parameter with higher reliability. Specifically, the photoalignment film is obtained by irradiation with polarized UV light, and is characterized by ΔA (= A1 - A2: A1 being absorbency in a direction parallel to the direction of oscillation of the polarized UV light and A2 being absorbency in a direction parallel to the direction of oscillation of the polarized UV light) per micron of film thickness having a local maximum value of 0.35 or greater in the range of 230 - 380 nm.
