Title:
ARC WELDING CONTROL METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/169899
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
During thin-plate welding, welding defects such as burn through or missing the target as a result of deformation can easily occur if the amount of input heat is too great for the plate thickness. In addition, the arc becomes likely to be unstable if the welding current is reduced in order to reduce the amount of input heat. In arc welding that has repeated short-circuiting and arcing, the arc is stabilized, the amount of heat input to the object to be welded is reduced, and burn through and deformations during welding are suppressed, as a result of: cyclically repeating a first heat input period (Th) and a second heat input period (Tc) having a lower amount of heat input than the first heat input period (Th); and eliminating the arc by reducing the welding current during arcing in the second heat input period (Tc).
