Abstract:
An arc welding method for bonding dissimilar materials is provided which enables bonding, strongly and with highly reliable quality, an aluminum alloy or magnesium alloy and a dissimilar steel material using economical arc welding equipment, and which can be applied without restriction to open cross-section structures and closed cross-section structures. This dissimilar material bonding joint (1) is provided with an aluminum alloy or magnesium alloy upper plate (10), a steel lower plate (20) arc welded onto the upper plate (10), and a steel bonding auxiliary member (30). The bonding auxiliary member (30) has a stepped outer shape having a large-diameter part (32) and a small-diameter part (31), and a hollow section (33) is formed that passes through the large-diameter part (32) and the small-diameter part (31). The bonding auxiliary member (30) is pressed fitted into a hole (11) that is formed by punching the upper plate (10), and the hollow section (33) is filled with an iron alloy or Ni alloy welding metal (40).
