Abstract:

An aromatic polycarbonate resin which has repeating units derived from a residue of a 2,2−bis(4−hydroxyphenyl)adamantane compound or of a 1,3−bis(4−hydroxyphenyl)adamantane compound having one or more substituents on the aromatic rings, is excellent in transparency, heat resistance, and mechanical strength, and has satisfactory moldability&semi a process for producing the aromatic polycarbonate resin which comprises reacting either of the adamantane compounds with a carbonic−ester−forming compound&semi an aromatic polycarbonate resin material excellent in optical characteristics, etc.&semi and an optical part obtained by molding the resin material.
