Abstract:
Obtained is an array antenna device wherein the mutual coupling between element antennas can be sufficiently reduced without causing any significant increase of cost. Parallel lines, each provided on the same plane as and close to a respective patch element and parallel to the magnetic field direction of a respective patch antenna and to the polarization direction of the respective patch antenna, and a curved line, having a shape curved between the adjacent patch elements and connecting the parallel lines to each other, constitute a coupling line for coupling parts of electromagnetic waves excited by the patch elements to the adjacent patch antennas. The coupling line is configured such that the spacings between the respective parallel lines and the respective patch elements and the length of the curved line are so established as to cause the electromagnetic waves coupled from one patch antenna to the adjacent patch antenna through air space and the electromagnetic waves coupled from the one patch antenna to the adjacent patch antenna through the coupling line to cancel each other.
