Abstract:
The present invention relates to an arterial catheter used during procedures for an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation device. More specifically, disclosed is a technical field pertaining to an arterial catheter which, when severely ill patients who show symptoms such as respiratory failure or heart failure due to diseases or accidents are unable to breathe voluntarily or suffer irregular heartbeat and have several indicators and life-sustaining data significantly less than appropriate values even with mechanical respiration, mechanical blood circulation, and the like, is used to operate an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation device that helps the patient's blood circulation by a mutual combination of gas exchange and pumping functions after blood is drawn out of the body, wherein the tip portion of the catheter is formed to be bendable, after a guide catheter is removed, in the direction of the catheter, thus enabling blood pumped out, i.e., supplied to the descending aorta to be distributed through a plurality of supply holes, not to be pumped at high pressure, thereby reducing the pumping pressure, and thus, secondary side effects such as aortic rupture can be prevented.
