Abstract:
The present invention relates to an intravenous catheter used during an extracorporeal membrane circulation device procedure. More specifically, disclosed is a technical field relating to an intravenous catheter, which, when a severely ill patient with a symptom, such as respiratory failure or heart failure due to disease or an accident, is unable to breathe voluntarily or suffers an irregular heartbeat and has several indicators and life-sustaining data that are significantly less than appropriate values even with mechanical respiration, mechanical blood circulation, etc., is used in operating an extracorporeal circulation device that helps the patient's blood circulation by a mutual combination of gas exchange and pumping functions after blood is drawn out of the body, wherein by forming suction holes at the distal and middle ends of the catheter, blood can be sucked from the right atrium as well as the hepatic vein and lower hepatic vein, and by forming an auxiliary catheter inside the catheter, blood for assisting lung and kidney functions can be supplied or absorbed.
