Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an article accumulation apparatus which has high versatility and increases production efficiency relating to accumulation of articles while increasing reliability by solving a problem associated with a conventional chain drive. [Solution] An article accumulation apparatus 1A comprises: a linear conveyor 4 configured such that a large number of sliders 11 the positions of which can be controlled independently of one another can move freely along a base 10; a plurality of partition plates 5 which are supported on the sliders 11 and which are spaced apart from one another; and a control device 7 including control logic for moving the sliders 11 forward by a predetermined distance after one article W is loaded in each gap between partition plates 5, 5 and control logic for moving the sliders 11 toward an unloading position where articles W are unloaded from the gaps between partition plates 5, 5 after the article W has been loaded in each of all gaps between partition plates 5, 5. This arrangement has high versatility and can increase production efficiency relating to accumulation of the articles while increasing reliability by solving a problem associated with a conventional chain drive.
