Abstract:
In order to enable the work of charging an electricity storage means of a load carrying unit to be safely performed, an article conveyance device is provided with a travel rail (3) which is disposed along a conveyance path and also with the load carrying unit which has a traveling load carrier (9) capable of traveling on the travel rail (3) while suspending an article support member, and the article conveyance device is adapted to convey an article along the conveyance path with the article loaded on the article support member. The load carrying unit is provided with a drive means which causes the traveling load carrier (9) to travel on the travel rail (3), and also with the electricity storage means which supplies electric power to the drive means. A charging means (6) which charges the electricity storage means is disposed at a part of the conveyance path. Electricity receiving sections (24a, 24d) which are connected to an electric power supply section (52) of the charging means (6) and receive the electricity are provided to the traveling load carrier (9).
