Abstract:
An article transport facility equipped with a transfer device and a control device for controlling the transfer device, wherein the control device is configured so as to execute a setting control for setting a storage location inside a container for each of a plurality of articles to be stored in the container, a storage control for controlling the transfer device so as to store each of the plurality of articles in the storage location thereof, and an exchange control for exchanging one unit, among a first gripping unit and a second gripping unit which are mounted to a mounting part, for the other unit. In addition, the setting control involves setting the storage location according to the transfer order of each of the plurality of articles in a manner such that articles are placed in order starting from a reference location set in a location adjacent to a sidewall section. The control device executes the storage control for all second articles among the plurality of articles to be stored in one container, and thereafter, executes the exchange control for exchanging the second gripping unit mounted to the mounting part for the first gripping unit, and thereafter, executes the storage control for all first articles.
