Abstract:
The present invention provides an artificial reef fabrication method comprising the steps of: (a) manufacturing a fiber-reinforced plastic or synthetic resin molded body having an opening formed through a surface thereof and having a containing space formed therein; (b) filling the containing space with a reinforcement material; and (c) sealing the opening with the fiber-reinforced plastic or synthetic resin. According to the artificial reef fabrication method of the present invention, a fiber-reinforced plastic or synthetic resin molded body is filled with a concrete reinforcement material and is sealed with fiber-reinforced plastic or synthetic resin; accordingly, the concrete reinforcement material is not exposed to the outside, and no alkaline material is eluted to seawater, thereby providing strong durability against salt; and the surface of the fiber-reinforced plastic or synthetic resin is coated with stone powder or ceramic powder such that seaweed can easily root thereon, making it possible to fabricate an artificial reef on which a submerged forest can easily develop.
