Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an artificial soil medium with which it is possible to cultivate good-quality root vegetables while suppressing the occurrence of pests, the breeding of various germs, etc., without requiring specialized devices, seeds, etc. [Solution] An artificial soil medium for root vegetable cultivation having as a primary material a zeolite having a grain size of at least 1 mm and no more than 5 mm. With this artificial soil medium for root vegetable cultivation, it is possible to cultivate root vegetables without using organic fertilizer, natural soil, etc., and therefore the occurrence of pests, the breeding of various germs, etc., can be effectively suppressed, and the root vegetables can be hygienically cultivated. Also, the root vegetables can be cultivated simply and at a low cost without using special devices or seeds.
