Abstract:
An augmented reality communication method, apparatus and system. An auxiliary data channel is established between terminal devices and an AR media processing network element, and a target object is provided to the terminal devices by means of the auxiliary data channel, so as to enhance a media stream of AR communication between a first terminal device and a second terminal device, thereby effectively integrating AR into a voice/video call. A third-party server can provide materials of a target object for AR communication of terminal devices, for example, a virtual object. By means of the present application, a virtual object is acquired from a third-party server by means of an auxiliary data channel, and is provided to terminal devices. As another example, in some application scenarios, a background image corresponding to a foreground object is relatively fixed, and in this scenario, an rendering operation between a media stream and the background image is performed by an AR media processing network element, such that the pressure on the upstream bandwidth of terminal devices can be reduced.
