Abstract:
According to the present invention, an authentication server (2) comprises: an image acquisition unit (210) that acquires a photographic image obtained by photographing an authentication subject, and position information indicating the photographing position at which the face of the authentication subject was photographed; a face authentication unit (212) that uses the face image of the authentication subject included in the photographic image to authenticate the authentication subject; a background comparison unit (214) that specifies, on the basis of the position information, assumed background information pertaining to the background of the authentication subject, the background information being assumed to be reflected in the photographic image, and compares the assumed background information and actual background information pertaining to the background of the authentication subject actually reflected in the photographic image; and a communication device (23) that outputs information indicating the result of authentication of the authentication subject, and information indicating the result of the comparison of the assumed background information and the actual background information.
