Abstract:

The vehicle window glass (10) includes a first glass plate (1), a second glass plate (2), and a middle film (3) sandwiched between a second surface (S2) and a third surface (S3) thereof. For the purpose of weight reduction, at least one of the glass plates (1, 2) has a thickness of 2.0 mm or thinner. The middle film (3) includes a main portion (4) having a rigid layer and a peripheral portion (5) comprising a non-rigid layer. The peripheral portion (5) is disposed along an upper edge, which is exposed to the atmosphere, of the vehicle window glass (10). Contact between water and the rigid layer of the main portion (4) is prevented by the peripheral portion (5) comprising the non-rigid layer. The water content of the rigid layer measured using a near-infrared spectrum is limited to 0.5% or lower.
