Disclosed are an authentication information transmitting method and an apparatus therefor, the method comprises: performing a split operation on authentication information, so as to split the authentication information into a plurality of sub-authentication information, and numbering each sub-authentication information according to the order of the respective sub-authentication information in the authentication information (S110); according to the respective sub-authentication information and the numbering thereof, sequentially generating a multicast frame (S120); selecting one multicast frame from among the respective generated multicast frames, and filling an authentication information length value in the selected multicast frame (S130); transmitting the respective generated multicast frames (S140). When the total length of the sub-authentication information in the multicast frames received by a receiver is equal to the authentication information length value in the multicast frames, the sub-authentication information is reorganized according to the numbering in the multicast frames, so as to obtain the authentication information. Also provided are an authentication information receiving method and an apparatus therefor. Transmitting an authentication information by means of multicast frames enables a Wi-Fi intelligent device to conveniently and easily access a router.
