Abstract:
An automated analyzer (10) comprises: a measurement device (20); one or more sample trays (30) on which a plurality of sample containers (40) are placed; a conveyance device (50) which selects one sample container (40) from among the plurality of sample containers (40) placed on the sample tray (30) and conveys the selected sample container to the measurement device (20), and returns the selected sample container (40) back to the original sample tray (30) after the measurement by the measurement device (20); a control device which controls operation of the conveyance device (50); and a retreat part (60) which is provided in a position different than the measurement device (20) and the sample tray (30), and on which the sample container (40) is temporarily placed. If the sample container (40) cannot be returned to the original sample tray (30) from the measurement device (20), the control device causes said sample container (40) to retreat to the retreat part (60).
