Title:
AUTOMATIC PANCREATICOJEJUNOSTOMY STENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/110999
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention is characterized in that, instead of conducting anastomosis of a pancreatic opening using a suture, a stent and a suture, which is connected to the stent and drawn out of the pancreas, are solely used, thereby simplifying the surgical process and lowering the level of difficulty. If the suture is pulled, a flexible portion of the stent inserted into the jejunum is folded outward and unfolded radially, thereby forming a stepped portion, and the stepped portion supports the inside of the jejunum such that the pancreas and the jejunum are forced against each other, thereby facilitating anastomosis thereof. The present invention is also characterized in that a support tube seals a slit area of the flexible portion inside the stent, thereby preventing the pancreatic juice from leaking through the anastomosis region after the operation, and the rigid support tube is configured to retain the anastomosis region. Pancreaticoduodenectomy, which is one of the most difficult surgical operations, can thus be performed safely and easily, thereby reducing postoperative complications occurring to patients with pancreatic cancer and biliary tract cancer, and anticancer treatments can follow earlier, thereby increasing the patient's survival rate.
